We combine engineering excellence, innovation, and digital transformation to deliver high-performance, sustainable, and future-ready data centre solutions.
With over 40 nationalities represented across our teams, CTS fosters a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture where innovation and technical precision drive every project. Beyond construction, CTS develops digital systems and standardised modular data centre units to meet the evolving needs of hyperscalers, colocation providers, and enterprise clients.
Our proven track record and strong partnerships have established CTS as a trusted industry leader delivering large-scale, complex data centre facilities with speed, efficiency, and excellence.
Role Overview
The BIM Specialist – 4D Planning owns the 4D BIM model for data centre and mission-critical projects, independently linking model elements to the construction programme to produce constructability, phasing, and logistics simulations. The role leads time-based clash analysis, supports look-ahead planning and progress tracking, and coordinates directly with BIM Coordinators, MEP BIM engineers, and the planning team. The position works on fast-track delivery across CTS's EMEA project portfolio, with particular focus on sequencing mission-critical power and cooling installation and commissioning activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently develop and own the project 4D model, defining the model-to-schedule linking strategy and activity coding alignment with Primavera P6.
- Maintain synchronisation between the federated BIM model and the construction programme as it is revised, ensuring the 4D model remains a reliable planning reference.
- Produce constructability, phasing, and site logistics simulations, including scenario ('what-if') sequence analysis for congested or mission-critical areas such as MEP plant rooms and power/cooling installations.
- Lead time-based clash and workspace/space-time conflict analysis, coordinating resolutions with BIM Coordinators and mechanical/electrical BIM engineers.
- Own look-ahead planning support and progress-tracking workflows, integrating site progress data into planned-vs-actual visual reports and dashboards for the project team and client.
- Contribute to and help maintain the 4D-related sections of the BIM Execution Plan (BEP), applying Level of Development (LOD) and Level of Information Need requirements to 4D deliverables.
- Coordinate directly with the planning team on baseline logic, activity durations, and sequencing constraints.
- Support sequencing of MEP installation, integrated systems testing, and commissioning milestones for data centre projects.
- Review junior team members' 4D outputs for accuracy and consistency, and provide day-to-day technical guidance.
- Respond to RFIs and represent 4D planning in multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- 5–10 years of experience in BIM coordination or construction planning, including exposure to mission-critical or data centre projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Synchro 4D and Navisworks; proficiency in Revit.
- Solid command of Primavera P6 or MS Project, including activity coding and programme structuring for 4D linking.
- Working knowledge of ISO 19650 information management principles, BIM Execution Plans, Common Data Environments, and LOD/Level of Information Need requirements.
- Experience producing progress-tracking dashboards or reports (e.g., Power BI) from model and schedule data is an advantage.
- Strong coordination and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently across multidisciplinary teams.
- Good written and spoken English; additional European languages an advantage given CTS's EMEA delivery footprint.
