Role Overview

The Landscape Architect at CTS is responsible for the design, coordination, and delivery of landscape and external works for data center projects. This role ensures that site layouts, access, security perimeters, environmental integration, and external spaces are designed to support operational efficiency, sustainability, resilience, and regulatory compliance.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Landscape Architect integrates functional infrastructure requirements with environmental considerations, local planning constraints, and long-term maintenance needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure architectural solutions support data center operational requirements, security zoning, maintainability, and future expansion.
  • Develop architectural designs from feasibility and concept through detailed design and IFC documentation.
  • Produce drawings, specifications, and technical documentation aligned with CTS standards and project requirements.
  • Ensure constructability, durability, and lifecycle performance of architectural solutions.
  • Support value engineering without compromising performance or quality.
  • Develop landscape and external works designs from concept through detailed design and construction.
  • Design site layouts including access roads, parking, service yards, security fencing, screening, and perimeter treatments.
  • Integrate landscape solutions with civil engineering, drainage, and utility designs.
  • Ensure external areas support operational, security, and maintenance requirements of data center facilities.
  • Incorporate sustainability strategies such as biodiversity enhancement, stormwater management, and climate resilience.
  • Support environmental impact mitigation and compliance with planning and environmental regulations.
  • Coordinate green infrastructure solutions aligned with CTS sustainability objectives.
  • Coordinate landscape design with architecture, civil, structural, MEP, and security disciplines.
  • Support BIM and CAD coordination of external works models and drawings.
  • Liaise with local landscape consultants, ecologists, and planning authorities as required. 
  • Support the Design Manager in managing interfaces and design deliverables.

Client & Authority Engagement

  • Support planning applications and authority submissions related to landscape and site works.
  • Participate in design reviews, client meetings, and authority consultations.
  • Ensure client requirements and site constraints are reflected in landscape solutions.
  • Review contractor submittals, materials, and samples for landscape works.
  • Support site inspections to ensure design intent is implemented correctly.
  • Respond to site queries, RFIs, and design changes related to external works.
  • Contribute to as-built documentation and project close-out.

Certification Authorities

  • Responsible for architectural delivery of landscape and external works scope.
  • Ensure compliance with planning, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate site layouts with operational, security, and infrastructure needs.
  • QA/QC of drawings and documentation.
  • Provide construction support and as-built documentation

Required Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Landscape Architecture, or equivalent.
  • Chartered Landscape Architect (or working towards) - desirable.
  • Functional Knowledge and Skills
  • Site planning, access control, and external infrastructure design.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability principles.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (or BIM workflows), and MSOffice.
  • Understanding of buildability and long-term maintenance.
  • Strong English communication skills (written and spoken).

Minimum Experience Requirements

  • Experience with large-scale industrial, infrastructure, or data center projects.
  • Delivery of coordinated landscape and external works packages.
  • Multidisciplinary coordination experience.
  • Preparation of planning-compliant documentation.
  • Construction support and as-built documentation experience.
