Role Overview
The Senior Landscape Architect defines the landscape and external works strategy for data centre and mission-critical campuses, holds design sign-off authority, and mentors junior and intermediate team members.
The role leads landscape and visual impact strategy, biodiversity and wildfire-resilience approaches, and client and authority liaison from concept through commissioning, across CTS's EMEA project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities

Define the landscape and external works design strategy across site master planning, screening and buffer planting, drainage, and biodiversity enhancement for campus-scale sites.

Provide technical authority and design sign-off for landscape and external works packages.

Lead landscape and visual impact assessment (LVIA) strategy and biodiversity net-gain approaches, and oversee wildfire-resilient landscape design where relevant.

Own client relationships and lead liaison with planning and environmental authorities on AIA, PDM, and RJUE matters.

Lead design reviews, value-engineering, and optimisation studies for landscape scope across one or more projects.

Lead multidisciplinary MEP/BIM coordination and enforce modelling standards and BIM execution plans for external works.

Oversee design and installation quality; lead commissioning-stage reviews and snagging of landscape works.

Mentor junior and intermediate landscape architects and review their design deliverables.

Manage relationships with external ecologists, landscape consultants, and specialist contractors.

Support resourcing and programme planning for the landscape discipline across multiple concurrent projects.
Required Skills and Experience

Master's degree (Mestrado) in Landscape Architecture or equivalent EU qualification.

10+ years of experience in landscape architecture, including experience leading design on industrial, infrastructure, or mission-critical/data centre projects.

Advanced proficiency across AutoCAD, Revit/BIM workflows, and Civil 3D; working knowledge of GIS tools (QGIS or ArcGIS) and 3D visualisation software.

Deep knowledge of landscape and visual impact assessment (LVIA), biodiversity net gain, SuDS/stormwater management, and wildfire-resilient landscape design.

Strong command of Portuguese planning and environmental frameworks (AIA, PDM, RJUE) and REN/RAN land constraints.

Chartered Landscape Architect status (or equivalent professional recognition) and/or APAP membership desirable; familiarity with IFLA Europe standards.

Proven experience negotiating with planning and environmental authorities, clients, and specialist consultants.

Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and multi-project coordination skills.
