Role Overview

The Civil Engineer is responsible for the design, coordination, and delivery of civil and structural engineering systems for mission-critical data center projects, working with a moderate degree of independence. The role translates project requirements into civil and structural solutions supporting resilience, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop civil and structural engineering designs from feasibility through detailed design and IFC documentation.

• Ensure civil solutions support structural loads for critical equipment, cooling systems, and power infrastructure.

• Produce drawings, specifications, and technical documentation aligned with CTS and Eurocode standards.

• Coordinate civil design with MEP, architectural, and specialist disciplines; work closely with BIM Coordinators for clash-free models.

• Review and respond to RFIs, design changes, and site queries.

• Support client presentations, design reviews, and coordination with local authorities and licensing bodies.

• Provide civil engineering support during construction, including site inspections and shop drawing reviews.

• Ensure compliance with local codes, Eurocode standards, and licensing requirements; support sustainability strategies (BREEAM/LEED).

• Prepare design packages within assigned scope and support QA/QC and as-built documentation.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

• 5–10 years of experience in critical infrastructure, data center, or high-complexity industrial projects.

• Proficiency in structural calculation and civil modelling tools (e.g. SAP2000, ETABS, AutoCAD, Revit).

• Knowledge of BIM workflows and applicable Eurocode standards.

• Coordination experience with multidisciplinary project teams and authority filings.

• Registration with the Ordem dos Engenheiros preferred.

• Intermediate or advanced English required.
