We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Electrical Engineer – ELV to join our Porto office. This role is key in designing and developing high-quality, reliable, and efficient electrical systems for data centers, owning design packages end-to-end and taking technical responsibility for assigned systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently create and manage single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and panel schedules using EPLAN and Revit.

  • Perform power system analysis (short circuit, load flow, arc flash, protection coordination) using ETAP, taking technical responsibility for assigned systems.

  • Develop and validate lighting and emergency lighting designs using DIALux.

  • Lead coordination with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, civil, architectural) to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.

  • Lead peer design reviews and review junior engineers' output, ensuring compliance with international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA 70E).

  • Prepare and finalize detailed design documentation, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).

  • Manage direct client and vendor interaction on technical matters, and respond to RFIs during construction phases.

  • Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and global data center design standards.

  • Mentor junior and intermediate engineers.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred.

  • Proficient in ETAP, EPLAN, Revit, and DIALux.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E).

  • Familiarity with Tier classifications (Uptime Institute) and redundancy concepts (N, N+1, 2N).

  • Experience in mission-critical environments (data centers, telecom, hospitals, etc.).

  • Exposure to HV/MV substations, switchgear layouts, and BMS integration.

  • Knowledge of digital twin concepts or energy monitoring systems is a plus.

  • Proficiency in English (mandatory); Portuguese and other languages are an advantage.

  • 10+ years of electrical engineering experience, including exposure to data center or mission-critical infrastructure design.

  • Owns design packages end-to-end and takes technical responsibility for assigned systems; leads coordination with other disciplines and reviews junior engineers' output; confident, independent use of ETAP, EPLAN, Revit, and DIALux; direct client and vendor interaction on technical matters.
