About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Mechanical Engineer to support mechanical design efforts on complex, large-scale projects. You will be assisting in designing mechanical systems, developing calculations, and ensuring compliance with industry standards, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients. This role combines technical expertise and active involvement in project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Work
- Support senior engineers in developing mechanical designs, calculations, and drawings under close supervision.
- Prepare basic schematics, layouts, and 2D/3D models using AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks.
- Perform routine calculations (load, sizing, capacity) with review from senior staff.
- Assist with equipment selection based on specified parameters.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and drawing revisions.
- Follow established design standards, codes, and checklists (ASHRAE, ASME, ISO).
- Support preparation of technical submittals and datasheets.
Collaboration
- Participate in design coordination meetings, taking notes and actioning follow-ups.
- Liaise with other disciplines (electrical, structural) under guidance.
- Use BIM/ACC platforms for basic model updates and clash detection support.
Learning & Development
- Shadow senior engineers on site visits, client calls, and design reviews.
- Build technical competency across HVAC, piping, and cooling systems.
- Take on increasing scope of independent tasks as competency grows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in mechanical systems design, including HVAC, piping, pumps, and machinery.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or other mechanical design software.
- Strong knowledge of ASME, ISO, and local mechanical safety standards.
- Experience in energy efficiency and sustainable design practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years in mechanical design engineering for large-scale, multidisciplinary projects.
- Expertise in HVAC, piping, machinery, and thermal systems design.
Soft Skills

- Strong communicator with clients and internal teams.
