Electrical Site Manager

- PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The Electrical Site Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all electrical construction activities associated with high-voltage substation EPC projects across Norway and Europe. The role ensures that all electrical installation works—covering HV, MV—are delivered safely, in accordance with project specifications, and aligned with the overall project programme.
Acting as the lead for all electrical activities on site, the Electrical Site Manager manages subcontractors, labour, and resources, ensuring effective sequencing and integration of electrical works with civil, mechanical, and commissioning activities. The role plays a critical part in maintaining quality standards, driving productivity, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
The Electrical Site Manager also works closely with engineering and commissioning teams to ensure installations are completed to specification and handed over in line with project requirements.

- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Electrical Site Management
- Manage all electrical construction activities across the project site.
- Supervise subcontractors, labour, and electrical installation teams.
- Plan and sequence electrical works in alignment with the project programme.
Installation Oversight
- Oversee installation of HV, MV, and LV electrical systems and equipment.
- Ensure all installations are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Manage isolations, energisation processes, and permit systems as required.
Coordination & Interfaces
- Coordinate electrical activities with civil, mechanical, and commissioning teams.
- Manage interfaces between disciplines to ensure efficient execution and avoid conflicts.
- Lead site coordination meetings with stakeholders and subcontractors.
Quality & Compliance
- Monitor installation quality and ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Support inspections, testing, and commissioning readiness.
- Identify, report, and resolve defects or non-conformances.
Programme & Performance Management
- Track progress against schedule and productivity targets.
- Identify risks and delays, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Provide regular reporting to the Project Director and project team.
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Education: Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (preferred).
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years' experience working on high-voltage substations, transmission, or power infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience supporting HV testing, commissioning, energisation, and operational activities.
- Experience working within live electrical environments under permit-to-work and isolation systems.
- Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary construction and commissioning teams.
- Experience interpreting electrical drawings, protection schemes, and single-line diagrams.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of high-voltage systems, protection schemes, and substation operations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and protection drawings.
Interpersonal & Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
- Must be an EU Citizen able to work on-site in Finland or Norway.
- Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.
- STRATEGIC PERFORMANCE METRICS (KPIs)
- Delivery of electrical works in line with project programme and milestones.
- Compliance with quality standards and installation requirements.
- Strong HSE performance and incident-free delivery.
- Effective coordination with project teams and stakeholders.
- HSE
- Comply with all applicable health, safety, and environmental legislation, regulations, and company procedures.
- Integrate safety-by-design principles into all engineering and project activities.
- Participate in risk assessments and hazard identification activities relevant to the role.
- Report safety concerns, incidents, and near-misses in accordance with company HSE procedures.
- Support the development and maintenance of a positive safety culture within the team and across projects.
- Ensure compliance with the company Integrated Management System (IMS) covering quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- REPLACEMENT POLICY In case of absence of less than one month, the Electrical Site Manager will be replaced by a member of the project site management team. For absences exceeding one month, a temporary replacement will be appointed by senior management in accordance with DCS Norway replacement policy guidelines. The replacement will assume the key responsibilities outlined in this job description to ensure continuity of site operations and project delivery.
