Junior Cybersecurity Specialist

Reports To: Cyber Security Manager / Head of IT Security

Role Overview The Junior Cybersecurity Specialist supports CTS Group's security operations by helping manage security tools, assisting with threat response, and supporting protection across systems, networks, and cloud environments, working under the guidance of senior security staff. This role is hands-on and offers exposure to fast-paced security operations and continuous improvement of the organization's cybersecurity posture.

Key Responsibilities

• Support monitoring, detection, and response to security incidents using SIEM, SOAR, and endpoint security tools.
• Assist with managing and optimizing security solutions, including EDR/XDR, DLP, WAF, PAM/PIM, and IDS/IPS.
• Support vulnerability assessments and help drive timely remediation of identified risks.
• Assist with implementing and maintaining security controls across on-premise and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Support root cause analysis, threat hunting, and continuous security monitoring.
• Support incident response planning, audits, and compliance requirements.
• Help evaluate and enhance security tools, processes, and automation capabilities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to help strengthen overall security posture and awareness.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, security operations, or SOC environments.
• Strong hands-on expertise in endpoint, network, and data security tools (AV, EDR/XDR, DLP, WAF, PAM/PIM).
• Experience working with SIEM and SOAR platforms for monitoring and incident response.
• Good understanding of cloud security across Azure, AWS, or GCP environments.
• Strong knowledge of network security, threat detection, and incident response methodologies.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and related standards.
• Exposure to DevOps/security tools such as Docker, Terraform, Git, or scripting (Python, PowerShell).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-team environment.
