Role Overview The Team Leader – BIM manages BIM adoption and integration across data centre projects, bridging design intent with construction reality. The role owns BIM standards, execution plans, and the Common Data Environment (CDE), while coordinating architecture, structural, and MEP disciplines to produce unified, data-rich models.
Working closely with project and design teams, the role drives consistent BIM workflows, trains project staff on tools and processes, and ensures BIM deliverables support project quality, coordination, and ROI across CTS's data centre portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce BIM standards, protocols, and BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) across projects.
- Manage and administer the Common Data Environment (CDE) for project information exchange, version control, and access.
- Lead multidisciplinary clash detection reviews and resolve coordination issues across architecture, structural, and MEP models.
- Align BIM workflows and adoption strategy with organisational goals, tracking efficiency gains and ROI.
- Train and support project teams in BIM tools, modelling standards, and coordination processes.
- Administer BIM software licences and digital assets (Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC), and oversee technology rollout across projects.
- Coordinate across architecture, structural, and MEP disciplines to ensure unified, data-rich, and clash-free models.
- Review and approve BIM deliverables and model quality against agreed LOD and information requirements.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy, and quality of project deliverables.
- Support project teams through design, construction, and handover with BIM-based coordination and issue resolution.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 15+ years of overall design/construction experience, including at least 5 years in a BIM management or BIM coordination role.
- Proven experience managing BIM adoption across multidisciplinary projects; exposure to data centre, mission-critical, or industrial facilities is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of BIM standards and protocols (ISO 19650), BIM Execution Plans, and LOD frameworks.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
- Experience managing Common Data Environments (CDE) and project information workflows.
- Ability to coordinate effectively across architecture, structural, and MEP disciplines.
- Strong leadership, training, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
