Specification AI Engineer (Senior)

Team: BIM-AI Core Reports to: SEM, BIM-AI Core

Every project needs complete, consistent, auditable technical specifications. This role trains and operates the LLM-driven system that drafts them automatically from an approved Project Brief — and flags non-conformances against CTS standards before anyone signs off.

What you will do:

• Build and train the specification automation model on CTS standards and previous project specs.
• Define the spec taxonomy and the linkage between specification clauses, BIM elements, and BoQ lines.
• Build the quality grade report that flags non-conformances against the CTS standards checklist.
• Work with the BIM Automation Engineer on attribute-to-spec round-tripping.
• Maintain the eval set with the QA Lead — every spec output is scored before it can be issued.

Must have:

• 5+ years in applied ML or NLP, with at least 2 working on structured technical documents.
• Strong Python, embeddings, and fine-tuning fundamentals.
• Real experience retrieving over technical or regulatory document corpora.
• You have built evals that drove actual product decisions, not just tracked numbers.

Nice to have:

• AEC, contracts, or technical writing background.
• Prior fine-tuning of open-weight LLMs on domain corpora.
