About the role

The Senior Electromechanical Engineer leads the design, analysis, and integration of mechanical and electrical systems for large-scale, technically demanding projects. This includes developing system calculations, engineering specifications, detailed drawings, and ensuring compliance with Swedish and international standards. The role requires strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, client-focused communication, and maintaining a high level of technical excellence. You will also provide guidance to junior engineers and act as a key technical reference for electromechanical topics throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Design & Integration: Design and integrate electromechanical systems,
  • ensuring seamless interaction between electrical and mechanical components for optimal performance and safety.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare calculations, layouts, schematics, equipment specifications, and system descriptions for electromechanical solutions.
  • Software & Tools: Use AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, and relevant simulation tools to support system modeling and design accuracy.
  • BIM & Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams using BIM platforms (e.g.,
  • Revit, Navisworks) to ensure system alignment with architectural, mechanical, and electrical models.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with ISO, IEC, ASME, and local Swedish regulations, including national building codes and safety standards.
  • Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand requirements, present system designs, and ensure expectations are met.
  • Project Reviews: Participate in and lead electromechanical design reviews, quality checks, and risk assessments.
  • Process & Mentorship: Provide technical support to junior engineers, assist in improving internal workflows, and support best practices across the engineering team.
  • Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot design challenges and propose effective engineering solutions.
  • Approve electromechanical design documents under the supervision of the Lead Electromechanical Engineer.
  • Validate system designs for compliance with standards and client requirements.
  • Lead internal audits and technical reviews when required.
  • Make decisions on system specifications, material choices, and design approaches under supervision.
  • Escalate risks, technical concerns, or potential delays to the Lead Electromechanical Engineer.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (required).
  • Master’s degree or other advanced qualifications are considered a plus.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Chartered Engineer, PMP) are highly desirable.
  • Strong expertise in electromechanical system design, including motors, drives, pumps, control panels, HVAC systems, and industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, and relevant engineering design tools.
  • Solid understanding of international and Swedish engineering standards and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret and develop complex engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Experience integrating mechanical and electrical systems into multidisciplinary engineering projects.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electromechanical engineering, preferably within industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience working on multidisciplinary engineering projects involving mechanical–electrical system integration.
  • Experience preparing IFC drawings, technical submittals, equipment specifications, and as-built documentation.
  • Represents electromechanical engineering in project meetings, especially when the Lead Electromechanical Engineer is unavailable.
  • Provides temporary project leadership to support engineering activities when assigned.

Soft Skills

  • Proactive, independent, and committed to driving results.
  • Strong communicator, capable of explaining technical concepts clearly to clients and team members.
  • Collaborative mindset, thriving in cross-functional teams.
  • Calm under pressure, focused during tight deadlines and complex challenges.
