Role Overview
The Finance Director will act as the Finance Business Partner for CTS DC India's Chennai operations, running the finance and business administration of multiple units across the production campus and its supporting functions. The role owns financial performance, cost and margin visibility, group reporting and planning, and statutory compliance, while leading the site finance team and managing external partners such as auditors, tax consultants and external manufacturers.
Working as a hands-on business partner to plant operations, procurement, projects and group finance, the Finance Director turns financial information into operational and commercial decisions. The position suits a manufacturing finance professional who combines strong controlling and reporting discipline with ERP depth and the ability to build scalable processes in a fast-growing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Controlling: Act as the business controller for the Chennai operations, owning financial performance, margin tracking, cost control and investment evaluation, and providing the analysis that drives operational and commercial decisions.
- Multi-Unit Finance and Business Administration: Run the finance and business administration of multiple units, including the production campus, prefabrication lines and corporate functions, ensuring consistent processes, controls and reporting across all units.
- Group Reporting and Planning: Deliver monthly and quarterly reporting packs to CTS Group in line with group timelines and formats. Lead the annual budget, rolling forecasts and business plan inputs for the India units, and explain variances to group finance.
- Financial Control and Accounting: Manage the full accounting cycle, including month-end and year-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, fixed assets and preparation of financial statements under Ind AS and the Companies Act, 2013.
- Cost and Manufacturing Accounting: Maintain product and project costing for prefabricated modules and materials, including bills of material, work-in-progress, inventory valuation and cost-to-complete, and report margin and cost-efficiency to management.
- Business Partnering: Work cross-functionally with plant operations, procurement, supply chain, tendering, projects, HR and engineering to translate financial information into decisions, challenge assumptions and support corrective action.
- External Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with statutory and internal auditors, chartered accountants, tax consultants, banks, external manufacturers and subcontractors, ensuring timely, well-documented engagement.
- Statutory Compliance and Taxation: Ensure accurate and timely compliance with GST, TDS/TCS, income tax, PF/ESI and other applicable Indian statutory requirements, including returns, filings, assessments and notices.
- Procurement and Vendor Finance: Review purchase orders, contracts and vendor terms, including arrangements with external manufacturers, from a financial and commercial standpoint in coordination with procurement and operations.
- Working Capital, Cash Flow and Banking: Manage working capital, cash forecasting, fund flow and banking relationships to meet operational and project payment obligations across the units.
- ERP and Systems: Own all finance-related modules of the ERP and drive their effective use. Lead ERP implementation, rollout or upgrade activities and reporting automation across the units.
- Audit and Governance: Coordinate statutory, internal and tax audits. Maintain audit-ready documentation and strengthen internal controls and delegation of authority across the units.
- Team Leadership: Lead, develop and allocate work across the site finance and administration team, building capability as the India operations scale.
