Role Overview
The Intermediate Civil Engineer – Prefabrication is responsible for the technical development, analysis, review, and detailing of civil engineering solutions supporting prefabricated construction. The role ensures that engineering information is accurately translated into fabrication and production requirements and coordinated through engineering, manufacturing, and construction.
The position combines civil engineering expertise with BIM methodologies and digital engineering tools to support efficient prefabrication and project delivery, with a strong focus on coordination, constructability, fabrication, and installation across CTS's EMEA project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, analyse, and detail civil engineering solutions supporting prefabrication and construction in accordance with project requirements, applicable standards, and engineering best practices.
- Interpret, review, and technically analyse fabrication and production drawings, specifications, and project documentation, ensuring solutions are accurately detailed and suitable for manufacturing and construction.
- Act as a technical link between engineering, production, and construction, ensuring design information is clearly transferred and coordinated across all stages.
- Coordinate civil engineering solutions with structural, architectural, MEP, and other project disciplines, as well as with the manufacturing team, identifying and resolving interfaces, clashes, and technical inconsistencies.
- Apply BIM methodologies throughout the design, coordination, and prefabrication process, contributing to coordinated digital project information.
- Use Revit and Navisworks to develop, review, update, and coordinate civil engineering models and project information.
- Consider the practical requirements of fabricated components, including dimensions, weight, handling, transport, installation, and their interface with site construction.
- Review engineering and production outputs to ensure technical accuracy, consistency, completeness, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, fabrication details, specifications, and other engineering deliverables required throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines, production teams, suppliers, and construction teams to resolve technical issues and support project delivery.
- Contribute to the improvement of BIM workflows, prefabrication processes, digital engineering practices, design standards, and project delivery processes.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 5–10 years of professional experience in civil engineering design and/or multidisciplinary construction projects, particularly within complex engineering environments.
- Experience in buildings, critical infrastructure facilities such as data centres, and/or modular and prefabrication construction is highly valued.
- Strong ability to interpret, analyse, develop, and detail civil engineering designs, with a clear understanding of multidisciplinary coordination, construction, and project requirements.
- Good knowledge of BIM methodology and practical familiarity with Revit/BIM authoring software.
- Strong interest in digitalization and the application of technology and BIM methodologies to improve engineering and construction processes.
- Advanced proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers from other disciplines, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Responsible, committed, proactive, and team-oriented, with strong motivation for engineering, construction, digitalization, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Availability to travel according to project and business requirements.
