Role Overview
The BIM Information Controller owns the management, control, and maintenance of project information throughout the design and construction lifecycle for data centre and mission-critical projects. The role independently manages project documentation within the Common Data Environment (CDE), applying established information management procedures, workflows, and approval processes.
The position supports the Information Manager and multidisciplinary project teams in maintaining reliable, traceable, and accessible information, with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and efficient digital collaboration across CTS's EMEA project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain project documentation within the CDE, ensuring information is accurate, up to date, appropriately classified, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
- Implement, monitor, and oversee document control procedures and workflows across design and construction stages, ensuring compliance with company and project-specific requirements.
- Maintain document registers, metadata, naming conventions, and revision information, performing quality checks to ensure traceability and consistency.
- Monitor and coordinate the timely upload, review, approval, and distribution of project documentation in line with agreed procedures, deadlines, and schedules.
- Support the effective use of CDE platforms, ensuring information follows the required workflows and status codes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the Information Manager in implementing and monitoring information management processes aligned with ISO 19650 principles and project information requirements.
- Coordinate closely with design, engineering, construction, and project management teams to ensure information requirements are understood and consistently followed.
- Provide guidance and day-to-day support to project participants on document control procedures, CDE workflows, and information management systems.
- Generate reports and dashboards to monitor document progress, submission and approval status, and key information management performance indicators.
- Perform regular quality checks on project information, identifying missing, outdated, or non-compliant documentation and following up with contributors.
Required Skills and Experience
- Diploma or certification in Engineering, Document Control, Information Management, or another relevant technical discipline.
- 5–10 years of experience in document control, information management, or engineering environments, preferably within large-scale and complex projects.
- Solid understanding of document management procedures, information workflows, revision control, and approval processes across design and construction stages.
- Practical experience with CDE platforms, preferably Autodesk Construction Cloud and/or BIM 360, and other digital collaboration tools.
- Working knowledge of BIM methodologies and information management standards; knowledge of ISO 19650 is highly desirable.
- Ability to maintain structured document registers and metadata and produce clear reports, dashboards, and performance indicators.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to independently identify inconsistencies and non-compliance with project requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support project participants across different levels of technical expertise.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
