The São Paulo office will be CTS's primary engineering and delivery hub for Latin America, supporting global data centre projects and digital transformation initiatives in collaboration with teams across Europe. Hired professionals will have direct exposure to international mission-critical projects and development opportunities within a high-performance global environment.
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Electrical Engineer to join our São Paulo office. This role is critical in designing and developing high-quality, reliable, and efficient electrical systems for critical infrastructure and mission-critical data centres.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for Mission-Critical Data Centres, including power distribution, grounding, lighting, and standby power.
- Create and manage single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and panel schedules using EPLAN and Revit.
- Perform power system analysis (short circuit, load flow, arc flash, protection coordination) using ETAP.
- Develop and validate lighting and emergency lighting designs using DIALux.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, civil, architectural) to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Participate in peer design reviews, ensuring compliance with ABNT/NBR standards and international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA 70E).
- Prepare detailed design documentation, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Support commissioning teams and respond to RFIs during construction phases.
- Ensure compliance with Brazilian electrical codes and global data centre design standards.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in critical infrastructure power systems.
- Collaborate closely with design partners from other engineering disciplines.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Active CREA registration or eligibility for registration (mandatory for practice in Brazil).
- Minimum experience per level:
- Senior: 10+ years (including at least 2 years leading critical infrastructure design in data centres)
- Proficiency or familiarity with ETAP, EPLAN, Revit, and DIALux.
- Strong knowledge of applicable ABNT/NBR standards for electrical installations, as well as international standards (NEC, IEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E).
- Familiarity with Tier classifications (Uptime Institute) and redundancy concepts (N, N+1, 2N).
- Experience in critical infrastructure environments (data centres, telecoms, hospitals, etc.).
- Exposure to HV/MV substations, switchgear layouts, and BMS integration.
- Knowledge of digital twin concepts or energy monitoring systems is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Intermediate or advanced English mandatory; other languages are an advantage.
